After many months we can almost finally report we've almost successed
in purchasing the former Land of Makebelieve property in Upper Jay. There have been several times when we thought
the sale was almost completed, but the process took many steps and was more complicated than expected...this time we're quite sure it's going to happen -- almost any day now.

The purchase will allow us to finally move forward in acquiring funds from NYS Office
of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to help with stabilization and repair.

Our work day in August 2007 focused on cleaning up the castle in preparation for getting cost estimates on rebuilding the roof deck. We removed bad wall and ceiling material in order to expose the building frame to determine the extent of damage in various places.

Work weekends, naturally,
are subject to weather
situations. Summer 2007
had so many really hot
weekends we were hard-
pressed to find good ones. Hope we have more
